Barb's passion is born from her own personal struggles:

Barb remembers the stories that were read to her as a child. However, Barb was diagnosed with a mild hearing loss at the age of five, and her loss continued to get worse. Consequently, Barb's vocabulary didn't develop along with her peers, and reading became a struggle in her teens. Although she worked hard for her grades, she was devastated when she failed a history midterm. It had become difficult to listen and participate in class discussions.

Thankfully, as an adult, Barb developed a love of reading and hopes to share it with children while they are still young.

All throughout her career, and even with family on holidays, Barb has enjoyed sharing great literature with young children. Since children have become more and more interested in various electronics, Barb's passion is to encourage children to develop a lifelong love of reading and to inspire them to become authors.
